Goodluck vs. God Bless
Do you often use the word "Goodluck" rather than "God Bless" to wish someone a good fortune? I am surrounded by people who often used "Good Luck" as a means of showing their concern and giving people an enormous feeling and a peace of mind. Sometimes, I wondered why we forgot to analyze first the meaning of the word before we say it to somebody. I admit that I adopted this word as my usual vocabulary in my daily life but I came to realize how foolish and ignorant I am!
Goodluck has a root word "luck" that stems from chances and it may lead to negative connotation to whether it is good or bad. It is usually an expression of goodwill but you are unsure of what does it really do to you. You are relying on the name of luck rather than seeking the power of God to help you.
There is no risk in saying "God Bless" to someone else. Believe in a sure thing that God will guide, empower and help you throughout your way. It is our own hard works and efforts that lead us to our fortune. Nothing in life is by chance!
