Awesome that you're doing this Matt! Trending is pretty much a joke, and really a horrible "calling card" for Steemit... since it IS our front page if you're not logged in.
Yea its a sham about the trending page. I think its unlikely that situation will get better in the near future, so instead I'm starting to wonder how we can improve the curation as a community? Voting is not working. Better/more curation projects may help?
