History of the world cup
World Cup, is the most awaited event by circular cyclists lover, and a very prestigious event.
This championship has been held every four years since the 1930 tournament, except in 1942 and 1946, which was not held due to World War II. The current World Cup champion is Germany, who won the 2014 tournament in Brazil.
The format of the tournament is currently followed by 32 teams competing for the title in the sports arena in the host country in about a month; this round is often called the World Cup Final. The qualifying phase, which is currently held within three years of the World Cup, is held to determine which teams will qualify for the tournament, along with the host country.
19 World Cup tournaments have been won by eight different national teams. Brazil has won the World Cup five times, and is the only team that routinely follows every tournament. Other World Cup champions are Italy and Germany with four titles; [a] Argentina and Uruguay with two titles; and England, France and Spain with one title each.
The World Cup is one of the most watched sports competitions in the world, even beyond the Olympics; an estimated 715.1 million people worldwide watched the 2006 FIFA World Cup final held in Germany. [1] The next two World Cups will be held in Russia in 2018 and in Qatar by 2022.
