Playing and teaching golf now for a couple of decades - golf is difficult - anyone who has tried know this, it also is a challenge to teach golf in simple terms. All the time i have been teaching and playing the search for a "better" and more knowledge is a continuing prossess.

I would like to share my discovery of Right Side Golf 4 years ago developed by Gary Edwind from Australia. I have taken his/there course and is currently at level 2 in their accreditation.
Notable professional golfers swinging this way are: Rod Pampling and Peter Senior.

So what are the most important Fundamentals in the Right Side Golf Swing?

SHAPE
Staring out it is the Set Up as we call shape – It is setting the body close to impact/hitting position starting out tucking the right side having angle in the right wrist and a bendt right arm, the left side is straight. It looks like a reverse K.

From the back – there is bend forward from the hips, knees are slightly flexed, hands hang underneath the shoulders.

We keep the body and right wrist angle during the swing.

Sequence
From the correct shape we start the movement of the swing getting the club head to move first, then shaft, hands, arms, torso and lower body. Its the movement of arms and wrist that starts to pull the body.

Radius
A key component swinging right sided is maintaining the same radius both back and forward. Radius is the distance the hands and club head is away from you swing center.

TURN
Another key component swinging is getting the turn in the right direction, this is not possible without correct shape and radius.
It´s the left side working out and right side working back creating coil. It is not about how much you turn i.e. 90-120 degrees.

Weight shift
We talk about the upper and lower halfs of the body and like to use the word pressure than weight.

Going back the swinging of the club and arms creates the turn and moves the pressure to the inside of the right leg. There is no conscious effort to move any “weight” going back.

The transition going forward is a slight bump forward with both the lower and upper – since the body now is in a good position you can swing the arms down and preserve the energy in the shaft aka store up or as most people describes as lag.
