Sunset; a mindset
You will for a few minutes, see the sky in a full blaze of color — and then it’s gone.
But the psychological effects of giving the sunset your full attention may persist long after the color has faded of...
You do need to stop & actually engage fully with the sky-show
->Feeling connected with nature brings happier and more positive emotions
->Concern for others. Generous feelings and behaviors by concern for others
->Slowing down to appreciate the quiet experience . The instinct to stop and stare ; have been overridden long ago by the learned imperative to hurry up and get things done.
These cognitive tools we use to solve problems can create an imaginary universe in which we are the problem.
We carry with us this cognitive workset that allows us to compare, plan and contrast.
Its useful but also awfull. We need to use it - but we also need to learn to rein it in...
Think about a sunset that you look on with appreciation. It is one of a kind & there will not be another such sunset on earth.
We could go back into a problem-solving mode -there should be a little more pink here or a little more blue there. But we dont AS it would violate the beauty of the moment;we sense that. So we appreciate.
