Night sky in Northern Norway.
Hunting the Northern Light.
Friday evening, and night the sky was clear without a cloud and as you can see not a trace of the Northern light. I went out to a look out point with a view out the fjord where I live. While waiting for the sky "get in fire" i shot some pictures of the last light of the day towards the vest. As time passed by waiting, I also played a little with light painting. I used long exposure time and lightened the trees with my headlight. I did not see any traces of the northern lights, but got some "waiting" pictures. Hope you enjoy.
Best regards
Harald

Just wondering, on average, how many times in a month can you see the northern øights during the winter months?
It is difficult to say. It depends on the solar activity. Last year it was much. I have read somewhere about less activity in 2018. Last week it was one evening with much acivity. @karja have a post from that evening. Since then the weather had been cloudy.

interesting using your headlight for some night time shots. Good photos and nice sunset @harkar
Yes. And the result is not given. Have to experiment a little, how much and long you have to use the light.
