The coin that got me into all this was one of those naff commemorative releases called '£5 for £5' with small print saying.. it's only called legal tender but in practice it's not really. So I'm the proud owner of some shiny Cupro-Nickle nonsense.
Im enjoying seeing some your collection. The £20 coins are ok, i have a few of them and the £50 and £100s but feel missold on them and does make you question legal tender and the perceived value. I just bought a 2017 Ghana African Leopard, it has a 100 Cedi face value that was minted by accident, should of been 5 Cedi, 100 Cedi converts to £17.42 which makes it an interesting coin.
I did not know about that dated stamp and coin release. I do like the big crown, it is unique. But yes, I agree with you that the annual commemoratives are mostly a waste of money.

Good to see you back posting again my friend, Britcoin.... :) I think silver makes some of the best coins.
Silver coins can look amazing at times

I agree with that 99.99% of commemorative are a waste of space, I learned that pretty early, not early enough though, good some real duds LOL
I would have loved to have that gold crown £5 coin, but I recently got into this, and my goodness, that coin is so expensive now on the after market.
great vid
Great coin but probably not a design for me...
