Welcome to the the eighteenth edition of the Gods Unchained Weekly Recap! It's been a while since I've posted one of these, but there was really not a whole lot going on over the last couple of weeks. However, that changed this week, so let's get to it!
Video Series
The Immutable team has begun releasing a 5 part video series with strategies and advice for playing Gods Unchained. The first two are up on YouTube.
These series are hosted by Petrify, the lead Game Designer for Gods Unchained.
Balance Changes
New balance patch this week! And while it's small, it is having a major effect on the meta. Three God Powers were changed, Enrage boosted so that it only gives your creatures 1 Burn instead of 2, Memory Charm nerfed to only provide +1 strength to friendly creatures, and Flourish -- well, I'm not sure what to call it, but Flourish now gives +1 strength to two random friendly creatures for 2 mana. Sounds pretty good, right? The only problem is, that it is a temporary buff that expires at the end of your turn!! Not sure what was up with that idea, but it's not good.

The marketplaces continue to be active and Gods Unchained has continually maintained its spot with the highest transaction volume and value in the NFT market!

There has been some Legendary and Epic accumulation recently, causing prices for many of the lower prices cards in those categories to spike. Not long ago you could grab some of the less popular Legendaries for 0.05 ETH, but now those prices are above 0.08 ETH (for a brief time, any Legendary would have cost you a minimum of 0.1 ETH)!
We also saw an interesting meta-related boost to card price for the Respected Jarl. With the balance change to Enrage, Respected Jarl was seen as a valuable Epic card for use in Enrage decks, and so the price for a Respected Jarl card has more than doubled!

Dev Update
The Immutable team has released their first dev update post and promise to follow up on a regular basis. This is awesome! Just a little info about what is being worked on and planned can go along way. I know that software development can be fickle and fast-paced and managers are sometimes reluctant to share devs progress with those outside the company, but as a long time beta tester, I appreciate the team sharing this information.

Meta
Deception has been dominating the top ranks for a couple of weeks now and Zoo decks were dead. Control has been king, with pretty much every God, even Nature and Light. This week's Balance patch was obviously geared towards changing that dynamic. We'll see if that happens or not.
I couldn't find any recent Meta reports. Perhaps it was the holidays or the stale Meta that kept folks from making these analysis posts, but hopefully they will return soon.

I have quite a few Genesis cards. I've been around since almost the very beginning. I've bought and sold a few on the markets to fill in some deck concepts. I try a lot of different decks so I pop in and out of Mythic regularly -- sometimes deranking all the way back to Auric Gold. Sitting at Ethereal Diamond at the moment.
