Such descriptions are rare in the sphere of historical knowledge first because all objects of knowledge including the historical ones are inexhaustible in their characteristics and secondly because very rarely in history all the necessary data sources are available to give a complete and complete description of research from Historic Object. Therefore, the term complete historical descriptions should be considered as relative.
It makes sense only in its attitude to the next type of description, namely incomplete. Incomplete are those descriptions in which the source material does not allow to give a complete and complete picture of the historical object under consideration. Most of the historical descriptions are incomplete. The reasons for this are both objective - the absence of the necessary resources, and the subjective one related to the way in which human historical information is reflected and transmitted.
These subjective reasons are very figuratively exposed by the American historian Gothshock. In his book, "Historical Understanding," he notes, "the people who have watched the past have seen only part of what has been in it, and have fixed only a portion of what they have memorized. And only a part has been preserved from what they have fixed, but only a part of it is worth paying attention to, and what is worth noting is not all understandable. Finally, only part of what is understood can be told and formulated. "
Secondly, historical knowledge can be classified in terms of the magnitude of historical events. From the point of view of this criteria, partial and complete descriptions differ. Partial are those who consider only certain private historical events and phenomena in their relative independence from the whole in which they fit and function. Partial descriptions should not be mixed with incomplete descriptions. A partial description can be either complete or incomplete. It all depends on the available source material.
