Distinctive features and touch points in the plots

Both murders (in "Crime and Punishment" and "Idiot") ,are committed in both novels. For Dostoevsky, killings, suicides (Svidrigailov) or their prevention (Hippolytus) are characteristic, but not ordinary death. In "Crime and Punishment," the murder, takes place at the beginning of the novel, and in the "idiot" at the end. In the first work, the drama of the hero and his gradual spiritual evolution begins precisely after the crime, and in the second, the crime ends with the drama of Mishkin, Nastase Filippovna and Rogozin, as well as the prince's involution. But while the two works are the main moments of the killings, Dostoevsky portrays not the deaths of his heroes, but the crises, turns and breaks in their lives depicts their "life on the threshold" (Bakhtin, M. In the above-mentioned works, there is a complex intertwining of human dramas, destinies, ideas, and many different equal consciousnesses with their worlds. Another important feature is that the heroes do not remember anything, they have a biography in the sense of a past. They only remember what has not ceased to be for them today. Topos of the area in "Crime and Punishment" is Petersburg and Siberia, and in "Idiot" - Petersburg, Moscow (there is no action but only the hero's stay), Pavlovsk and Switzerland. But the art space, where the most fatal and mischievous events happen for the heroes where they try to expose and apply their ideas where their fates are dealt with is the Russian capital.

There Raskolnikov is ripping his ideology and he is applying it, where he passes through the stages of his tortuous psychological process. Filipovna and Rogozhin are returning from Pavlovsk to Petersburg, where the heroine finds his death. It is in the dark St. Petersburg house of Rogozhin before Nastase's dead body, Prince Philippe Mishkin, falls into his former madness. Scandalous scenes and catastrophes happen in St. Petersburg - of Nastase Filippovna. Svidrigailov comes from the province in the capital where he committed suicide. On the streets of St. Petersburg, Sonia sells her body. In general, the tragedies of the characters, their human dramas, are played in St. Petersburg. It is a city of social contrasts, a town of the humiliated and insulted, but also of the City of Sith small and big predators. According to Nikolay Berdjaev St. Petersburg with its special atmosphere, rooms and their ugly surroundings , taverns and their stench and dirt, and the outer faces of novels - all these are merely symbols of the inner spiritual world of man, only an image of inner human destinies. In Siberia, east of Petersburg, where the sun rises, Raskolnikov and Sonya begin a new life. In Switzerland-the west, where the sun is caging, Prince Mishkin has returned to heal his "idiotic" state.
