Definition of psychology

in #godflesh6 years ago (edited)

Psychology emerges as an independent discipline and science at the end of the 19th century and bears an ancient Greek name - from "psyche" (soul, spirit) and "logos" (word, doctrine, knowledge). From the very name of psychology ("doctrine of the soul"), it suggests that the content of its subject of knowledge is the inner, psychic world of man. Studying the psychic life of people is necessary not only for their deeper understanding, but also for the development of society. In studying psychology there are several problems, the first one related to the learning of psychic knowledge. Psychology is a structure of philosophical knowledge until the end of the 19th century. As a result of the rapid development and progress, psychology is separated from philosophy.

We are a paradox for sure. I believe man has a dualistic nature. That paradox is key I believe to expand creative and logical expressions. It's like its a seed that grows into many branches.
When you think you have an answer to something, there always seems to be a contradiction yet its true at the same time.

I think different human sciences have philosophical concepts even physics, maths, astronomy and other sciences.

@godflesh, psychology has gone a very long way in helping people in understanding of the world around them. In fact, it as a field can be best regarded as a life. What it does is remarkable.
