"Now You See Me 2" by Jon M. Chu - movie review

The movie is like a bubbling potion of elements of action, comedy, fiction and some cross between genres, so we do not accidentally miss something that's in fashion and people like it. The dynamics are truncated, its narrative is childish and illogical, the replies are not convincing. The people in this movie continue to say dramatic things like "I'll make you suffer" with a very serious face. There are several funny moments that include Woody Harrelson's evil twin brother, and that's it. I did not like the first film, which became a hit in 2013, and people were excited to discuss it as if they were watching the second "Prestige". I do not understand the phrase "It's Time to Kill Time" (as if someone is serious about killing time), which flies every time you have a film about how a movie can be so stupid. I was disappointed because I did not expect a movie with such an exciting concept (magicians make tricks with the deeper idea of social justice) being made in such an empty-kissing way.

I stop with the unregulated bread and tell you the story. The second part begins with the fact that after the end of the first film our people are forced to hide from the FBI, and Thaddeus Bradley (Morgan Freeman) is in jail (and hates them quietly and with wisdom from there as he can). Then we have a picture of Jessie Eisenberg (ex!) Who is walking around some catacombs and the voice of the secret and centuries-old organization, The Eye, calls him back on a mission. The structure mirrors that of the first film - in the introduction the team gathers in anticipation of something great. And here is how the tension is quickly accumulated in the first 5 minutes and viewers can not even think of being boring. Once the band gathers, we understand what their next mission will be - to prevent the evil intentions of a technological genius (represented as a playboy, seriously?) To squeeze the personal information of the whole world. I suddenly became interested in how this is going to happen, and I call - bray - there may be something longer, more elaborate than just powder in the eyes. It turned out not exactly that (but I will not tell you anything bigger than the story) and not long after, our 4 magicians fall into Macau, surrounded by Chinese and garlic. There are focus stores, Harry Potter and Michael Cane drinking a porcelain cup.

In fact, it does not sound uninteresting, but at the expense of that alarming overcrowding. How did they get out of their shelter, get together, make a whole show, and then fall into China where they will be given the second film mission? That's just the biggest hole for me. The first movie was also fast, but it seemed as if we had more time to realize what was happening while the pace was running out of the way that it seemed to compete with itself. Everything in "Now You See Me 2" is overloaded to the extent of over-saturation. Again, there is a hint of absurd, as of course there is some down there. (In an interview with Woody Woods and Mark Ruffalo, they respond to the compliment: "Cruel, People!" With "Yes, it was a lot of fun to shoot.") Another big problem with the film is that in its shaky eclecticity it blends between real magic and illusionist art. With this, I say nothing new to the people who have seen the first part, and they have certainly felt the absurd conclusions as to where magic is. For example, in the first part, Ayla Fisher turns a silk charm (and he flies in the air!) And then a full machine of time appears underneath. Both films are full of such moments, but they come so quickly, go away and change that the viewer naturally forgets to be confused.

Shyness and chaos may be somebody's resignation to the fact that it's a magic movie, and so everything could happen. A logically totally false statement, which, even if it was true, would make every story boring and meaningless. No game without rules is not interesting. I will give the obvious example of a quality film about magic - "Prestige". "Prestige" seems chaotic and confused at first sight. Not because it is badly written and has problems with the richness of the world it creates, but because it is structured itself as magic - with the three acts of representation, confusion and revelation. The enchantment is in Nolan's effect of stunning us, astonishing us, and then pointing out to himself how he did it. And that's what distinguishes the film and ranks it in the top charts not only of many critics, but also of many filmmakers - its working mechanism to create a world that is truly tangled, vibrant and pulsing.
