"Magic Mike" by Stephen Soderbergh - movie reveiw

in #godflesh6 years ago (edited)

How does the thought begin if we begin with the summary - Stephen Soderbergh tells a simple love story by "garnishing" it with well-sculpted male bodies. And that's it. And yes - there is nothing wrong with the movie, although we can not call it "good". Rather, it is somewhere in the middle - it could not be done, but obviously Mr. Soderbergh (and his producers) are in a different opinion. The scenario: A boy (Ch.Tathym) goes into another "little" boy (A.Pether-the misunderstanding) and leads him to a third, old-fashioned boy (M.McConaughey) to have (for all ages girls) boys to participate in the Tampa strip-show. Well, yes, in general - it is, however ... The idea of telling about the inevitable search for direction, about the fluctuations in the right way in life through the eyes of male strippers is quite extravagant and definitely challenging.

As soon as he spoke about it, the skepticism was present in the comments: "Well, now what did Soderbergh solve?" "Are McConaughey and Tatum the most appropriate?" And similar replicas flew into space. And "inspired by Channing's career before entering the actor's career" does not sound encouraging. The result is if not inspirational, it is certainly satisfactory - I went to the movies with heavy thoughts, and after the end of the film I found it fun and entertaining. That the little boy's sister will fall to the more experienced hero - it was clear from the start. That the "brother" will get involved in "unclean" situations - we could have guessed. Dialogue does not shine with dignity, but no one would expect deep-fledged phrases from such a movie, did they? Direction: I did not feel that I was watching his work, which could be taken in two directions - or he had stood sufficiently removed and documented the results, or he acted so delicately, perfectly experienced that we could take off his hat. Well, after "Infestation" and "Wet Orders" I quite hesitate where / how to determine its role. The "dances" are filmed well (they are a bit like a TV show, but what else ...) make a few non-standard camera views at different moments of the movie, otherwise it is stable and even annoying to some " canons ": Close-ups of a watching person, to track his reaction when he's almost lacking, is a pretty nerve-wracking technique, but that's how he can get the director's attention.

Actors: The minor dancers in the group are fun add-ons and "chewing gum" for the eyes of every woman who went to see "Magic Mike". From the cult Kevin "Diesel" Nash who casually grows up in Tarzan's role through Jo Manganello nominated by People for the sexiest man of 2010 who announced that she is not a girlfriend of Demi Moore; the blue-eyed Matt Boomer, and the Latin-loving Adam Rodriguez - all carefully selected, carefully carved tiles. Channing Tatum adds a different perspective to his awkward acting performances by unleashing his dance talents - the boy is flexible, no doubt! and Alex Pettyfer is so impersonal as the band's 19-year-old Kid, that the movie could well go without him. Personally for me - surprising, but I confess! - the star of "Magic Mike" was Matthew the "self-centered" McConaughey- the bliss of cypra with full awareness of how good it looks (for his 43 years) and the lack of any shyness to show it - body, legs, butt! He does not have to "play" something in particular or in depth: he is the manager of the group - the businessman interested in the number of banknotes that every show-night turns out to be squeezed in the socks of his popular supporters. In order not to uncover the predictable plot, I will not tell what happens at the end with Tatjam's "enterprising" character, who, of course, is in conflict with the "coach" of the striptease team.

All-in-All: Soderbergh's next film certainly should not miss the audience ladies who soon and / or have never visited a strip-bar. They will be curious about them, they may be fun too. It is clear that such a film can not expect a dramatic storyline or depth psychological study of the young people who have to find their vocation. Some will continue to make roofs, others will start up an entrepreneurial business, others - like Tatum himself - will take part in the actor's career. The boy gives signs of promising flashes, is not a completely lost cause, and no one has been born scientific, is it ?!

awesome concept sir..i like it..thanks for share your inportant concept..

Striptease has always been a very ambiguous profession. Some believe that this is the art of undressing for the purpose of displaying the ideal body, and there is nothing shameful about this; others adhere to the position that this is another type of prostitution, a body trade that is available to anyone who puts a string of crisp bills in thongs. Anyway, this sphere, despite everything, continues to gain momentum. It was about the "hard" fate of the guys in the world of striptease and was filmed "Magic Mike" directed by Steven Soderbergh.
I still could not determine which genre should be attributed to this film. A full-fledged comedy film can not be called, because comical moments were not so much. At the same time, this is not a drama, because the problems surrounding the protagonist have not been completely solved and solved. The film ends as if in mid-sentence, the story story is not over, which definitely hints at the sequel.
Not a bad comedy drama, weak subject, but very refined visually. Look all the same.
