Life and creativity of the romantic poet and philosopher Novalis. Novalis as a novelist. /part 2/

Between Heinrich and Matilde there is an ardent love that the father watches with noble patronage. A spontaneous sympathy emerged between the curious adolescent who dreamed of becoming a famous poet and the already famous genius of a poet wise man. Klinger tells, at Heinrich's insistence, an educative story. In a story loaded with many characters and algoys, the old man predicts the victory of poetry over the creations of the cool mind and over all its evil enemies. This story can be considered as a prediction of events and event in the second part of the novel: Heinrich will enter high politics will be feted at the court of Frederick II in Palermo, take a trip down to the holy places will participate in the battle near Pisa, will stay for a long time in Rome, and then return to his native Thuringia, where he will take part in the famous "Wartburg Singers".

Novalis' project, at the end of the second part of the novel, will show the unity of the beings and forces in Nature - animals, plants and stones will speak and mix their voices in harmony, symbolically translating the romantic thesis of universal harmony. After Mathilde's death, her unrelenting femininity will be embedded in all the women Heinrich will fall in love with. Eventually, the glorious miners will find the Blue Flower in the real world. As we have already mentioned, Novalis is not able to develop the project until the end, and the novel Heinrich von Offtenggen remains unfinished. In his famous "Romantic School", the late German romantic Heinrich Heine briefly presents the first romantic novel in German literature created by his eminent feast and predecessor in the following way: "In its present form, this novel is only a fragment of a great allegorical a poem that, as Dante's "Divine Comedy", had to recite everything earthly and divine. Heinrich von Opterdingen, the famous poet, is the hero of this novel. We see him as a young man at Eisenach, the lovely town located at the foot of Old Wartburg, where the greatest but most stupid things have been done, where Luther translated his Bible, and where several nonsensical nationalist heads burned the Gendarmerie code of G. Campitz . There has always been one and that merciless race between singers in this Wartburg, where Heinrich von Offtteringengen sang among the other poets, risking their lives in a contest with the Klinger Hungarian, as we read in the Manes Collection. The head of the defeated should fall under the executioner's ax, and the judge was the Thuringian landslide.

It is magnificently rising now over the hero of Vartburg's cradle, the arena of his future glory, and at the beginning of his Novalius novel he shows us, as I said, in his father's house in Eisenach. Finally, for the next generations of romanticism in Germany, to the last of which Heine itself belongs, the Blue Flower becomes a polyvalent symbol of their pursuit of moral perfection in love, friendship, poetry and their inclusion in the beauty of the endless world. Novalis' novella "Heinrich von Offtlingengen" as "a familiar journey of the wandering hero, creating a new idea of the macrocosm. Knowledge goes through life, death, nature, society, peace and war, the ancient world and modern reality. Novalis speaks of mysterious signs of being that are scattered everywhere - in crystals and minerals, in clouds, in flowers, in singing of birds, in the features of the human face, in egg shells, on mountain peaks and bare slopes. Reading these "writings" gives the true science of the existing. Through a series of idealistic speculations, the romantic philosopher reaches the construction of scientific theory on the basis of experimental knowledge.

At the end of his study, "The Romantic Philosophy of Life: Novalis", the notable Hungarian philosopher and aesthetician George Lukac writes that Novalis is the only true poet of the romantic school, only the whole soul of Romanticism poured into one song and only with him the soul of Romanticism. The others, if ever taken, were just romantic poets; romanticism offered them only new motifs, only changed the direction of their development or enriched them, but they were taken up before they were able to discern new feelings and remained poised after they broke with Romanticism.
