Typically, this formal communication is vertical and primarily affects the problems associated with the particular job. It has been said that the communication process goes through successive phases, and the model process itself is: a source; message to be encoded; channel; decoding; recipient; feedback . In the beginning, the source must have some purpose, an idea. It is embedded in the message to be transmitted in encoded form.
It is transmitted by the sender, received in some way by the recipient, who decodes it and provides feedback. Encoding - we have an idea, a goal. We need to convey the message in some way by gestures, symbols, speech. There are four conditions for coding - skills, attitudes, knowledge, socio-cultural environment. Message - the message itself is a tangible product. The message is influenced by: the code / group of symbols we use to convey the meaning /; from the decision of the source of choice of code or content. Channel - the means by which the message is transmitted. It may be formal or informal: a formal channel - the one that is related to work; informal channel - through personal contacts, through social interaction - often such informal networks are used.
Channels for formal information can be: face-to-face - direct feedback is received, unclear questions can be clarified; operational workshops - act on the principle of the cascade - start from the top and go down; channels can be video, newspapers and magazines, newsletters, information boards, wall-papers, quality circles / provide a two-way communication channel. Decode and receive information - the recipient perceives the message after it has been decoded. Factors influencing the decoding and reception are the accuracy of the message, the authority of the sender, the consequences for the perceiver, etc. Use of information after it has been adopted - immediate use or storage / forgetting /. Feedback / final stage / - check whether the message has been decoded successfully, how it was adopted. It can serve as a basis for correction.
