Does God exist? The story of my travel to reach enlightenment.
No.
There is no God.
I'm an Atheist for five years now.
My parents were Hindus at the time I was born.I was just three or four when they got converted into Christianity. Their only answer to my question "What made you to take the decision to change the religion?" has never changed. They say,
"Jesus Christ healed a wound your father had on his right eye"
Both my parents had not recieved formal education. My father had never been to school and my mother used to go to school only till she reached the age six.
Throughout my childhood and teenage years I used to go to church along with my parents and my siblings.
The time went on. I was taught how to pray, how to greet fellow Christians and how to keep a fair distance with the people coming from other religions.Subsequently,Reading Bible had become my inevitable habit.
"Jesus Christ is our saviour and he died for out sins" was that frequently reverberated verse in my brain day and night. My intellect was conditioned in a manner that even the mere discussion on 'The existence of God' seemed unacceptable to me!
I argued heavily with all the strength I had to defend Jesus Christ. I prayed all the time to the God.I got into argument with every exponent of all other religions. For me,Jesus Christ was the only God and all others deities were mere Artworks.!
Whenever I got good marks in my exams,I would attribute the credits to the God.At the times I caught with fever,I would say "It is the plan of that omnipotent power to let me suffer!".When I get well, I used to thank God for redeeming me from the illness!!
No words other than 'Radicalism' and 'Chauvinism' can define aptly the way of life I lived.!
It was when I joined college in 2011,far away from my home, that a complete U-turn occured with my perception about the God.
I got a better exposure to the actual world which I had never seen before.I made friends with people coming from various walks of life. We had healthy debates and discussions on various topics ranging from salt to saviour!
I gradually deviated from my previous stance. I read many good books which explain extremely well the world and the mysterious universe. My thoughts underwent a drastical change from 'Radical' to 'Rational'..Over the course of time I became a complete atheist and sure,a Rationalist.
The hard part of this change was the difficulty convincing my parents and those well wishers who used to see me as a dedicated devotee!
Even now I continue to remain a rebel in my home..To my parents,I'm the only one of my kind on this entire world.!!
Let's talk about our government now.
Still I am not able to imbibe the fact that the Indian government doesn't allocates a separate column to those who don't believe in God.!
This is 21st century.
Science has demystified many things our religions previously thought were just some magics beyond human thoughts!
This is high time our governments should treat all its citizens as equal and this doctrine of egalitarianism has to find its way to government documents.

To me, God is an unseen power who exists in our body as conscience. Our manasaakshi. Listen to it. All answers lie within you
A Marxist on Steemit? That was unexpected. Most people here are libertarians, like myself, a Baptist.
If you think you're rational, just try reading the Blackwell Companion to Natural Theology!
Honestly, God is an obvious conclusion. Just one argument:
Just quoting Carl Marx doesn't makes me marxist..Even if it is a marxist there is no rule on steemit to curb them. You say there is a cause. The religious books have their own stories to define that cause..Their definitions, certainly, are the greatest lies the humanity ever had to face..The science exquisitely explains the things around us in far superior way..I can suggest you many books if you are interested.
You seemed to be a Marxist, not only by quoting him, but from the things you wrote. I wasn't saying a Marxist isn't allowed on Steemit, on that it's unusual.
You say God isn't the cause. But since the cause made the Universe, the cause can't be anything within the Universe, like the Big Bang. The only thing that could cause the Universe is God.
I feel there is God , but I totally respect your belief ☺️ one thing I can say for sure is that , I am not one to judge anyone else , I'm not that perfect so .....yeah but I believe in God !
