THE SECURITY OF THE BELIEVER

Matthew 11:20-24; 28 - 30- "Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not: Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

According to the dictionary, Security is the condition of not being threatened, especially physically, psychologically, emotionally, or financially.
Inspiredly, Security means being secluded from cruelty. Being shielded from evil.

The Believer here, means Christians, those that have been named and identified with Christ.

The first thing I want you to note is that security does not mean the absence of danger, wickedness, cruelty, challenges, oppositions or any negative circumstances. All these vices will continue to be as long s the earth remains.

The second thing I want you to note is that being a believer does not automatically these vices from your surroundings. In fact being a believer is being in danger of all these vices because the devil, whose prime aims are to Kill, to Steal and to Destroy, is out there to war and capture souls. And his main targets are believers.

Now, because God is aware of these, He has made provisions for adequate security for the believers to keep them from all these vices around them.

Psalm 34:18-19
"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all."
John 16:33 "These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

Now, according to Matthew that we read, everybody has been given the opportunity to become a believer to enjoy this security we want to talk about. But unfortunately, many rejected and are rejecting that great privilege of been secured by God, the one who neither sleep nor slumber. Jesus said, those cities, those people, if this opportunity given to you was given to tyre and sidon they would have repented and enjoyed the security of God.

What is this security of the believers that we are talking about ?
It is a continual victory over Satan and his agents, continual victory over wickedness, continual victory over the world and its standards in all ramifications. That is, physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, marritally, health wise,...all the "allies"
Many scriptures reveal the Security of the believers. But I will take just few.
Matthew 28:20 - "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Ephesians 1:18-21- "For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:"

Ephesians 2:4-6 - "But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;), And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:"
Acts17:28 - "For in him we live, and move, and have our being......"

Which other security do you need again. God Himself is your security. That was why David was so bold to say, " Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil... " Psalm 23:4.

As a believer, God wants you to carry this consciousness that, no matter what comes, you are save in him, just like a 2years child has absolute trust in the parents to provide his security.

Do not allow the devil terrify you with his vices. As a believer, in God your security is sure.
