Interesting thoughts! It is funny though that we have the concept of 'My God', 'Your God' and probably 'Their God'! This is so because whether we like it or not, the religion we belong to defines the concept of our God. So as many religions . . so many Gods! Can we perceive God minus religion? Yes, I certainly believe so. Such a junction where religion culminates & spirituality begins brings an altogether different appreciation of God. The purpose of religion is essentially to serve as a ladder - to gradually elevate the mind to such altitudes where the seeker at once, sees unity in all existence. The truth lies beyond the superficial layers of rituals & mythology where only the persevering seeker dares to tread. Most of us are lost in the outer precincts.
Unfortunately, today religion is used as a tool to divide rather than the ladder it was meant to be.
