Enemies of the gospel: And even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up unto a reprobate mind

The apostle Paul began his epistle to the Romans by teaching the importance of announcing the gospel to all nations on earth. By the spiritual gift of faith, Paul explained, we understand the truth and the salvation that come from the gospels about our Lord; Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), Jesus is the personification of the gift of righteousness. And it is because of this rectitude (Matthew 7:12), is that we receive the spiritual goods promised in the beatitudes.
But Paul also warned us that the gospel has enemies; just as the truth of faith is intended for those who fear God with their hearts, that is to say, for spiritual men; the natural men, due to their attachment to apparent goods such as money, reject the teachings of the gospel. The spiritual man and the natural man are placed on opposite paths developing a spiritual war, because the flesh has its logic and the spirit another: "For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want" Galatians 5:17.
That is why Paul continued in his epistle explaining in a metaphorical way that God's disapproval is against those who reject Jesus. Because in essence these persons are doomed to destruction because of the hardness of their hearts, and that is how he described them:
"And even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up unto a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy" Romans 1:28-31.
