What is Evil?
The Greek word used for evil is “kakos” and means what we think it should mean, “of a bad nature, wicked” and is described as doing “not such as ought to be done.” The Hebrew word is “ra`” and simply means “bad” or “evil” as well as being “disagreeable” because it is to God. Fortunately, it was “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Cor 5:21 ) and “ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9) so God placed His wrath upon the sinless Christ so that we might be justified before God on account of the shed blood of the Lamb of God. Mankind is inherently evil but God is inherently holy so we ought to be thankful to God that He justifies the ungodly and that the ungodly become godly in Christ Jesus.

Evil is very real and present in the world. The Bible tells us that we are all born with sin, and that even some of God's people are wolves in sheep's clothing. However, even as sinners we are still giving a conscience that helps us not give into evil urges. Feelings of shame and guilt are right emotions that guide us. We do live in a fallen world where evil exists. However, evil did not come about God's design - he is not responsible for it. Evil only exists by his permission. The Bible says that God is able to overrule evil for good. It must be understood that evil does not work in a logical or rational way - it touches everyone both good and bad. A person cannot commit evil acts without paying some penalty - breaking God's laws has its consequences. God is involved in solving the problem of evil He sent his Son to die on Calvary's cross. There will come a day when evil will not longer exist.
Evil came as a result from the choice of humanity - not God. By giving humans choice there was the possibility to choose evil.
