Gnosis, the new mystical infancy: Now if we are children, then we are heirs. Romans 8:17

Inheriting the Kingdom of God, through a new mystical infancy (Gnosis), this is what the Apostle Paul speaks of in his letter to the Romans: "Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.", Romans 8:17.
To be heirs of God and of Christ means to be heirs of the beatitudes and their promises of blessing (Matthew 5:3-11 and Luke 6:20-26), the law of Moses (Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5:6-22) is not enough: "For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering.", Romans 8:3.

But to fulfill the fullness of the Kingdom of Heaven we need to abandon the works of the flesh and give way to the life according to the spirit: "Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.", Romans 8:12-14.
This teaching of Paul is of great importance because when we live according to the spirit, that is, we live the spiritual gifts inherited from God, desires tend to be ordered to wisdom, for which a person in God's grace is difficult to be tempted to fall into error and sin.
Paul continues with his explanation and does not teach that the spirit that we receive as a reward from Gnosis frees us from the slavery of fear, which conditions us: "The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.", Romans 8:15.
