Global Tensions Rising: Financial Markets?
The S&P500 index closed last week making new highs. And it was still hovering near the highs on Friday's closing bell.
Tensions Rise with North Korea Again
Tensions between the USA and North Korea have been building up since the collapse of the 2nd summit between Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump in February 2019.
The two sides could not reach a compromise over sanctions and the extent of Pyongyang's concessions on its atomic arsenal.
It didn't take long before the North started firing short-range missiles again.
The projectiles travelled from 70km to 200km towards the East Sea, also known as the Sea of Japan
November 2017 was the last time North Korea "tested" their projectiles.
Saturday's (4th May) launch came days before US special representative Stephen Biegun visits Japan and South Korea next week.
Conflict in Middle East
The conflict in Middle East shows no signs of abating:
During the weekend, more than 430 rockets and mortars had been fired out of Gaza, which Israel said it responded to with 200 air and tank strikes.
The heavy firing continued today. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had ordered the military to launch more “massive strikes” on Gaza and move tanks, artillery and infantry to the edge of the enclave.
Turkey’s president labelled this attack ad “Israeli terrorism” after the Gaza office for the Turkish state-run news agency was destroyed during the latest round of hostilities.
Financial Markets: Up or Down?
How will the financial markets react when it opens tomorrow Monday?
Probably continuing higher & higher! with no regard whatsoever.

Not sure Monday matters, Monday 18 months from now will be significantly lower. And the root cause will not be what most are looking at. The world has now entered a time where food security will drive markets and geopolitical dynamics.
