Last week, a guy was detained in Montreal for utilizing a McDonald's restaurant's free WiFi, although he had a solid purpose for doing so. The individual had been attempting to use a service that was not accessible to him, according to CBC News.

Although the man's identity has not been made public, his acts have drawn criticism on social media. According to a tweet from a user, The guy who got arrested for using public Wi-Fi is also the guy who invented it.

This is not the first time someone has been detained in Montreal for utilizing a free WiFi network, claims CBC News. Due to allegations that they had shared their internet connection with others in their building, two teens were charged with mischief in 2016.
