Craig Wright's Lawsuit Against A host Of Digital Asset Companies Will Determine The Future Of Bitcoin

in #gjdkhls10 months ago

The future of bitcoin is suspended in a lawsuit brought by the man claiming to be its creator. Craig Wright, a former Microsoft software engineer who has worked on bitcoin for over a decade, has filed a lawsuit against 14 companies, including Blockchain and Xapo. The crux of the matter is whether these companies are operating as unregistered exchanges and thus violating securities laws by selling tokens that are not registered with the SEC.

The lawsuit was filed in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, where Wright (real name: Satoshi Nakamoto) resides and has registered interests in many bitcoin-related companies. He alleges that these companies violated Canadian securities laws by offering tokens that were not registered with the regulator. The lawsuit also requires these companies to return all profits they have received from their operations since July 2017.

As far as I know, Wright said in an interview with Bloomberg Television, no one else can prove it. He added that he believes his lawsuit will force others to come forward and reveal who they really are behind aliases like Satoshi Nakmoto and Nick Szabo.
