Members of the now defunct Turkish crypto exchange Thodex could face up to 1,000 years in prison if the court upholds the prosecutor's appeal in the case. The CEO of the trading platform has been missing for the past year since Thodex suspended operations over a suspected exit scandal.

Farouk Fatih Ozar, founder and chief executive of the crypto exchange Thodex and involved in the operation of 20 others, should each face up to 40,564 years in prison, according to a Turkish prosecutor.

The platform was cited by Demiroren News Agency and Hurriyat about a year after the business closed. The defendants face charges of establishing a criminal organization, fraud and money laundering from illegal activities.
