Reality Talk
It is okay to feel discouraged sometimes. God knows that sometimes I have been. Doing good should be our natural default but human nature of greed, deceit and manipulation has taken it toll on most people.
We should never be weary in doing good. My favourite Bible statement has always been "...and Jesus went about doing good."
It is not just to feel good with ourselves why we are expected to do good but also because the Bible encourages us and also because it is peculiar to human existence. We are to make life bearable for each other. We should never grow tired of doing good to others.
I know how easy it is to feel discouraged especially when you have been taken for granted for too long. Never allow what others have done to discourage you from what we are expected to do.
Stop focusing on what's not working and focus on what is working. Stop focusing on those who have betrayed your trust in giving and focus on those who have been honest with your giving. Don't grow weary in doing good because in due time, that reward will come. God loves a cheerful giver. Never give out of compulsion. Never give with an attitude. Give because you mean it and be expectant too, that God will reward you.
