I don't know much about SMTs but I'll share my option based on what I know. There are lots of tribes out there with their own tokens and I think that's great. More tokens on the Steem blockchain means more activity and that's good for the Steem ecosystem, I think. Just look at the Ethereum network and its thousands of ERC-20 tokens for example. If the Steem ecosystem is healthy then that will drive up the price of STEEM, which is also great.
I hear positive things about SMT's but until they are implemented, I don't have much of an opinion about them. People say STEEM will grow in value, but I'm not so sure. It seems whenever information comes out about SMT's STEEM seems to get a little bump in value. Good sign.
