Knytt Underground is an excellent title from independent producer Nifflas' Games. It's hard to explain its purpose, but it's a mix of exploring its numerous (over 1,800) rooms, platform and even RPG elements (in this case, just the items, in the sense that you need to collect them and give them away) the ones for the right people, and the quests that people ask you to do).
The game was released on October 2, 2012 for Windows.
