For The Love Of Doge (Spam Fighting Giveaway CLOSED)

in #giveaway7 years ago (edited)

Hey Steemian's

After trying out the Dogecoin spam fighting giveaway, it turned out to be a success! I put up the Doge to get it started, and decided all of the profits for the giveaway would be added to the fund of each weeks giveaway. I really like the results, and I know we can do even better! We started the giveaway with 250 Doge, and 10 paid seats. Only 9 claims were made, but all in all, it was a success with the end result being, more Dogecoin!!

This week will be 370 Dogecoin for 10 paid seats! The payout was 383 Dogecoin from the post, but since it costs 1 Doge per transaction, I am setting it at 370. This leaves 3 in limbo, but we will add those to a future giveaway. No worries.

Here are the screenshots of the transactions:

As you see, We're making this thing happen! Great work everyone.

Please make sure you read and follow the rules. I am not going to release Dogecoin until all the parameters are met. I know it's a little bit of reading, but hey, these are 21 cent claims at the current rate. Not too shabby if you ask me. I am making it a point to state this, because I had to remind some people last time, and honestly, it's a bit frustrating, and it makes it seem as though you didn't read the post...Right? ok..

So this is how it will work:

  • 370 Dogecoin will be paid in total
  • 37 Doge per claim (Current rate makes this 0.21 cents USD)
  • 1 claim per Steemit user
  • (If you decide to claim with multiple accounts, be smart enough to use different addresses, futuremind doesn't like greedy people...If I catch you, you'll get banned from participating)
For any non math calculating individuals, that equates to 10 paid seats.

Participation instructions:

  • Find either a spam post, or a spam comment, and flag it. If you have the ability to adjust your vote weight, consider using enough weight to at least equal its value to your payment. (If you don't know what I am talking about with adjusting vote weight, you probably don't have the ability to.) In the case that you don't, just flag the spam.
  • Take a screen shot of your downvote, and share it in the comments section of this post.
  • Add your Dogecoin address in the comment with the screenshot.
(I will likely verify the downvote via Steemworld, or Steemd)
  • Upvote and resteem this post (The payouts of future giveaways will be dependent on the posts ability to generate revenue.
Don't even THINK about spamming this post...(Although there would be some hilarity in that...)

Use your judgement folks. Just because you don't like a comment, does not necessarily classify it as spam. Spam posts are generally comprised of posts advertising services that are obvious (or verified) scams, copies of messages that are copied and pasted over and over to fish for upvotes, but contain no relevance to the post they are commenting on, and a couple other things, but I think most of the spam comments are pretty obvious. Here is what Google says about spam. (by definition)

SPAM:

Irrelevant or inappropriate messages sent on the Internet to a large number of recipients.
unwanted or intrusive advertising on the Internet.

A canned meat product made mainly from ham.

send the same message indiscriminately to (large numbers of recipients) on the Internet.

If you return with a screen shot of canned meat, I will not award you Dogecoin, lets get that right out in the open...
If you are flagging someone because you do not agree with their opinion, I will not award you Dogecoin. (Be sure to understand the difference between disagreeing with someone, and spam..This is important.)

I believe I have covered all of my bases here. If there is anything that you don't understand, please feel free to ask.
Once all 10 claims are made, I will edit the post with CLOSED in the title.

MINOR UPDATE: Please try to find fresh spam that has not been flagged yet, it's not a stated rule, but the idea is, we will spread our vote power out amongst all of the shit spam, and start working it down, collectively as a group. I hope this makes sense.

We're not going to stand for the spam!!!

That's an interesting challenge. Not sure I would ever encourage flagging but I see the fun here.

I would never encourage flagging for anything other than spam. Spammers are not contributing to our community. Furthermore, there are many phishing attempts to steal our private keys, and rob you of your earnings. I feel it's an inherent duty for us to help keep steemit clean. Ignoring the issue will only make it worse. That is why I created a way for people to use their voting power to combat the problem, while being rewarded for it.

No, I get it. You know how people can be sometimes they don't fully follow instructions or might flag the wrong person and become a victim of a flag. I'm not saying your wrong at all. It's a good thing, I would hate to see people harsh you for having a flag army that may not flag appropriately .

Yes there is some risk involved for sure. I explain in the post that it is important to be able to discern what is spam, and what just may be "a difference of opinion"but there is still risk, because some spammers are well established, and there is always a risk for retaliation. It could be why my dogecoin claim isn't blowing up the way I thought it would 😅😩
