So yesterday Microsoft acquired GitHub, now people started moving their private repo from GitHub to either BitBucket or GitLab. GitLab company sensed this opportunity and they have started to analyze the trend. The trend was seen as #movingtogitlab in Twitter, thus GitLab was fast to acknowledge the fact and created a blog post - https://about.gitlab.com/2018/06/03/movingtogitlab/.

They have also created a Video explaining how to Move from GitHub to GitLab and giving discounts to the new users "New users get a 75% discount on GitLab's top tier plans"
