GIMP Tutorial Part III: How To Create 3D Text

This video shows you the step-by-step process I used to create the Hello World 3 Dimensional Text.

GIMP Tools Covered in Tutorial

We created a text layer with the Text Tool. Next we right-clicked the layer to Add Alpha to Selection and Select -> Shrink… to decrease the selection area (Grow… to increase it).

Paint Bucket was used for all the color fills and the texture fills. Layers were manipulated with Merge Down and Transparency setting for the background; plus Layer to Image Size.

Filters: Decor -> Add Bevel; Blur -> Gaussian Blur… Pixelize… Distorts -> Emboss…; Render -> Line Nova…
Colors: Hue-Saturation
