ConnectJob is Building a New Economy Near You

How many people in your local area are finding ways to employ themselves? Probably more than you think. According to Brad Smith, CEO of financial software company Intuit, we may just be getting started. Smith claims that the gig economy represented about 34% of the workforce in 2017, and is expected to reach 43% by the year 2020. These numbers represent a growing trend in the desire of individuals to seek freedom in their work life.

When we think of one-off acts of entrepreneurship we often think of the young neighborhood kids opening up a lemonade stand, a garage sale, or a weekly lawn mowing agreement.

Why is it that we restrict these meaningful forms of employment to child’s play? The reality is that we often hire strangers, employees from large companies, to help us out instead of first checking to see what local options are available to us.Up until this point, it kind of made sense. You’re not going to go knocking door-to-door in your neighborhood asking if anyone will mop your floors. Much to the disappointment of entrepreneurial kids, adults looking for side income, and local micro businesses, an easy way to communicate with willing workers in your area didn’t yet exist.

Enabling Local Job Economies with ConnectJobAll of that is changing thanks to a revolutionary mobile application supported by the blockchain community. ConnectJob connects people looking for services with qualified service providers, or “jobbers”, capable of providing those services at a competitive rate. ConnectJob utilizes geolocation features on your phone to find people in your area who are either looking for work, or looking to hire you!Founded by Yoni Assouline and Jonathan Gueron, ConnectJob has a team of over 30 people behind them, chasing a lofty goal of 20 million monthly users within the next 5 years. The ConnectJob app has already been developed and launched, boasting a perfect 5/5 score on Android’s Google Play app platform.

Bringing the Blockchain to Your Neighborhood

ConnectJob wants to offer a safe and secure experience to parties interested in transacting on their platform, and for that reason they’ve turned to the blockchain. By hosting escrow smart contracts on the blockchain, ConnectJob solves any concern potential users had about not getting paid for their hard work.

Eventually ConnectJob wants to allow its users to export their reputation earned through transacting on the ConnectJob platform and import that record of trust into other decentralized apps. This is a big deal for full-time freelancers who are active across many micro-job apps. No longer will they need to go through the grueling process of developing a reputation from scratch upon registering for a new platform or service.

There are already more than 30 unique jobs available on the ConnectJob platform. Coaches, gardeners, babysitters, plumbers, housekeepers and more. ConnectJob offers a large bucket of different gigs on its app today, and that’s only the beginning. This is a unique already developed platform that aims to provide an all-in-one application encompassing all services dedicated to individuals.
