Huh! A Gibbon
While observing an eating orangutan male, we crossed the territory of a group of gibbons. One gibbon came back and took a closer look at us, because I imitated his calls.
In the background you can hear the kiss-squeeks of the orangutan. He’s not happy that another monkey may compete with his food….
Its all about food in the forest.
Gibbons usually travel in groups within their territory, which is about half a square mile. They sing, especially in the morning and in the evening. Their songs are very beautyful and can be heard from far a way.
