If you have studied in UP-Diliman, then you must have heard one or two of these stories. Here are my top 5 ghost stories in the Campus.

#05 - Archive Section at the Main Library

Source

Imagine being alone on the archive section of the university's main library. Just like any library, the archive section is usually not filled with students other than the few who were researching for their theses. This story happened to one of the students who went to the library to work on his social studies research. Let's name this student 'John'.

John was alone on the floor when he was working on his thesis paper. He was working late so everyone else who were on the floor with him that afternoon has already left. He still has a few minutes left to study, so he figured, he might as well get one more book for his reference. He was on his way to one of the shelves to get a book when he heard the sound of a chair that's being moved from the table as if someone was about to sit. He figured, there must be someone else with him on the floor that he did not notice so he just let the wave of jitters away.

After finding the book he needed, he went back to his table. He noticed that the chair opposite him has moved away from the table, so he thought that there really must be someone else in the section with him. John felt less worried, so he went back to reading the book he picked from the shelf.

After a few minutes, someone turned the lights off. "Ay may tao pa pala", said the student assistant who was assigned to the floor. "Akala ko wala na." The assistant actually thought that John was the only one in the room.

John said, "Ay may kasama pa po ako dito. Baka naghahanap pa ng mga libro sa shelf." John explained that there was still someone else in the room with him, and the student must still be returning the books or something. The assistant gave John a funny look. "Ay, baka minulto po kayo dito. Kayo nalang po ang tao eh." The assistant actually told John that a ghost must be onto him since he was the only one left in the room. That gave John the jitters, and he swore not to go back to that room in the library on his own.

#04 - Inside the Men's Room on the Second Floor of the Main Library

This story happened to one of the janitors assigned to clean the second floor's restroom. It was six in the morning when 'Kuya Kaloy' heard a voice singing inside the men's room. It was strange but the singing voice was similar to the voice who another janitor who has recently died. So he called a fellow janitor to also listen to the voice, and they both heard the same sound. They both remembered that the song was the favorite song of their deceased friend. When the song ended, they ghost stopped singing, and was never heard again.

#03 - Malcolm Hall, UP Law Center

This was the story of one of the guards assigned in the UP Law Center. He was still at the Law Center on duty, and the time was a few minutes after 10 o'clock. He was patrolling one of the hallways of the building when he heard the sound of a typewriter coming from one of the rooms. He tried to follow where the sound was coming from until he reached the second floor. But when he was almost near the room, the sound disappeared. The guard went back to his station, but as he came down the floor he started hearing the sound of the typewriter again. Curiously, the sound of the ghost typewriter is only coming from that same floor.

#02 - Asian Center

Source

This story happened to one of the students who was on her way to visit her professor to attend an overnight workshop. It was nine o'clock when the ghostly incident happened. Instead of waiting for a ride going to the professor's house, 'Jen' walked to the house instead. While she was on her way to where her professor lives, she realized that another girl was walking on the other side of the road. The girl would pace her walk the same way Jen would as though she was literally Jen's mirror image except her hair was long, while Jen's hair was cut short. What's curious about this girl is that her hair hides her face, and the way to the professor's house was a bit dark. Jen felt that cold fear of being haunted, so she ran. But the girl did not follow her this time. It was a good thing that when Jen reached the corner of the street, an Ikot Jeep arrived. She took the ride instead. As soon as she arrived at her professor's house, she told everyone the story, and swore never to walk the streets on her own again.

#01 - Ikot Jeep Incident

Source

This story was shared many times online about a female student who was on her way to her dormitory.

It was already late at night, and Maria took a jeepney ride to her dormitory. She found it weird though that the driver of the jeepney took a different direction instead of the normal route. So she told the driver that she wanted to get off her dormitory, but the driver did not respond and continued driving as if he wasn't hearing anything. She noticed though that the driver kept on looking at his front mirror.

Maria was afraid that the driver is drunk or has something else in mind that may be borderline criminal. But she calmed herself, since the driver didn't really look like he was up to no good. She again called to the driver, this time with a much more firm voice that she wanted to get off her dormitory.

After a few minutes of driving senselessly around a different route, the driver started following the Ikot route again, this time he drove until he reached Maria's dormitory, and he stopped in front.

Maria paid the fair and was about to get off the Jeepney when the driver said something to her. "Ineng, pag-uwi mo hubarin mo agad yung damit mo at kung pwede eh sunugin mo agad. Iniba ko yung ruta para makaiwas sa disgrasya. Kanina kasi pagtingin ko sayo, wala kang ulo." The driver actually said to her that as soon as she's inside the dormitory, she is to remove all her clothes, and to burn them if she can. The driver explained that he had to change the route earlier to protect her from a critical accident because when the driver looked at her front mirror earlier, Maria was missing her head.
