DON'T MARRY FOR LOVE ONLY
Love alone is not a foundation for a successful marriage. There are forces in marriage stronger than love. Every divorced couple will agree with me. They once loved each other. Why did they divorce?
The forces - Ignorance, poverty, deadly diseases, accident, barrenness, no male child for some African traditions, inability to cook good food, nagging wife, violent husband, etc.
Get thee wisdom, but above every other thing, get thee understanding (not love).
My people perish for lack of knowledge (not love).
The man who built his house on a solid ground, the wind cannot break it.
"Homes (families) are built on the foundation of wisdom and understanding (not love or feelings). Where there is knowledge, the rooms are furnished with valuable, beautiful things" - Proverbs 24: 3-4

Start with love first and you're sure heading to disaster. The wise will rise.
I know some people may still not get this post yet, so let me elucidate.
Love embodies knowledge and understanding. You won't get married to a wild man because you love him. You would not marry a lazy man knowing fully well the outcome and marry him because you love him. If you know (knowledge) things about your spouse, and you think you can cope (understanding). Then that is love.
This is a hard teaching. The few who will listen to it will save their marriage.
