The Nintendo Switch Has A Blockchain Game Coming Out: Cooking Mama
This is very exciting news that no one is talking about. I'm not sure if it flew under the radar or a lot of people didn't see the implications of it but there is a game coming out on the Switch that is on a blockchain. That's right a blockchain game on a console. It is a reboot of the Cooking Mama series, which, if you haven't played is a fun cooking "sim" where you prepare meals.
As you can see from the footage it is small mini games you play to prepare meals.
The new version on the Switch, and this came out of nowhere, will be on a blockchain. This means that every game will have its own ID and there will be an internal in-game wallet. Not only will the game have the blockchain ownership advantages that we are starting to appreciate but will also use it in a new way. Each game with change to your cooking style and feel unique to each player. I do not know how that will work exactly but it is cool to see blockchain tech being used in new ways.
This is really big for a few reasons. One is that this game does not need a new system to play on but can run on a switch that is available today. This means that there could be many more blockchain games to come in the future and the tech is accessible. It is also a large company like Nintendo bringing the tech home and it could lead to many more games that are on a blockchain. Soon we will have the day when mario coins are actually coins.

And they are also adding a vegetarian mode too to the game so something for everyone.
I will be keeping an eye on this when it comes out.
I can think of a lot of games I would love to be on the blockchain and soon that is looking to be a reality. The days of a full-time job of collecting loot is close...

One awesome way of inspiring mass crypto adoption is to put it in the hands of the gaming generation. Kids brag about the sword they have and the custom skin they looted or the amount of ingsme currency they have. They stack this up already.
To convert that into a real currency will make it actually constructive.

Holy shit! This is awesome news! The game seems mad boring but once this blockchain gaming door is open, the sky is the limit. Very stoked to see the progression of blockchain console games

Hmm... from a technical standpoint, this is extremely interesting, and from a gaming standpoint, it actually also means that being able to get paid (in something) to play games is becoming a lot more of a consistent goal, although it'd be interesting to see which cryptocurrency they use, and also how well the value of the coin will hold up over time!
@whatageek, Gaming is one category which is preferred by all no matter if these are simplistic games or high graphics game. And good to see that now many gaming platforms are choosing Blockchain Space.
