I Ate That Frog (Get Shit Done Contest Entry)
So my Ugly Frog was not adventurous or particularly interesting ...which is why I dreaded doing it! LOL
I needed to list more items for sale on eBay, partly because I needed the money and partly because I am downsizing because I dream of living in a tiny house one day. I just started doing this, so it is a learning curve, and I am very slow at making a listing, figuring out what things are worth, etc. And then for some reason it takes three tries to upload a single photo half the time. Technology likes to mess with me.
Ebay told me I could list 50 items for free this month, so a week ago I knuckled down and started listing. I listed four items one day and five the next day. Today I aimed to list that many again. Ebay had other plans. Apparently, since I am new, I can only have ten listings active at any given time. So I listed my first item today, this TMNT comic book:
I am not even going to turn that around right now, because the way this day has been going...
And then I tried to list item #2, these WildC.A.T.S. comic books, which took an actual hour of work researching and photographing and listing:
Not EVEN going to turn it around...
And then eBay gives me an error message - you've reached your limit. What?! This was what I posted on Facebook, along with an angry, raging dragon picture:
"eBay: you get 50 free listings a month!
Me: the other day I spend hours listing 9 MTG card listings.
Today: lists one comic book listing, spends AN HOUR doing a second listing, only to be told AFTER I hit "list it," that apparently I'm limited to ten listings a month, and I have to call and ask permission to list more (awaiting a callback ~45 minutes from now).
WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT BEFORE, EBAY? WHY DID YOU TELL ME I COULD LIST 50 THINGS IF I COULD ONLY LIST TEN?? I WOULD HAVE FUCKING PRIORITIZED!"
About 45 minutes later, I get the call back where the guy explains that since I am new, I can only have ten active at a time, but once those others ended, I could list more. Well lucky for me it's been a week since I listed those first four (unlucky that they didn't sell), so as they expired, I was able to list more. Okay. Item #2 done.
So I get item #3 ready to list as the old listing for MTG cards that didn't sell expired and get that posted:
And then for item #5, I re-listed one of the ones that didn't sell, but I dropped the price a bit (a lot of 22 artifact and gold cards, for the game Magic: The Gathering).
Here's the proof, and also the link to the ten things I have for sale if you wanted to buy any! ;)

As a follow up ...when the other five tings expired today, I listed another five again! Now I'm kinda glad I am maxed out and don't have to do that for a few days...
The internet seems to want us to think it is easy, but selling stuff online is HARD. Congratulations on eating your ugly frog!
Hope something sells ;p
Thanks!
