One of the more famous Germans who fought for the Ottomans was Rudolf Hesse, who would later become a major member of the Nazi party, and is currently one of the idols of neo-Nazis. Hesse recounted the intense moment of warfare in his first battle, when he fought against a number of Indian soldiers fighting for the British.
