China and Russia's Influences on the Western World

in #geopolitics6 years ago

In the past year we have had major changes to power structures in countries in the western world, starting with Brexit, Trump and the election of Macron. Then we saw how divided the opinion was on Brexit after the referendum and how the leave campaign, to put it bluntly, lied to to the country by making various claims, but don't get me started on how the direction Trump is taking America and how beneficial it is for Russia at the end of it. However, what one thing doesn't make sense is that, wasn't Macron's election the best thing that happened so far in the recent year?

It seems with evidences of corruption with big people in power such as Arron meeting Russian officials before Brexit and Trump's golden showers, shows that foreign intervention doesn't seem to be too far off. However we aren't talking about military intervention, most likely it seems placing a spy in a place of power to influence policy of the country.

Why do I think this?

Well first of all, Trump at the end of the recent G7 meeting said he would very much like to see Russia in the G7, to which Britain objected. Before then, there were various evidences which suggest that Trump used personal emails to keep communications open with Russian officials during the campaign and also claims of having been in golden showers with Russian prostitutes according to comet.

Don't you think it's weird for Arron Banks meeting Russian officials before the referendum, given that he is purely siding with leaving Brexit. He must've made some sort of deal with them to fund the leave campaign on which majority of it was based on a lie to further Russian agenda and propaganda. The government learned of this and try to smear the Russian government with the case of Sergei Skripal, as a way to attack them back.

Also we know that before NK announced that it will meet the US with terms to denuclearise the country, they met with the Chinese who most likely instructed them to make a deal with the US as it will be in best interest for NK. After they did this and summit was done and over with a few days ago, it was actually NK who gained from this because there wasn't any sort of agreement that was reached between the US and NK, all the summit was for publicity and it just included that NK will now be recognised as a legitimate state and not one with a dictator.

Do you think Russian and Chinese influence have changed the west?
