The Saudis could decide to sell their oil for riyals but the only problem is that the Saudi State (Royal Family) could collapse as part of the petrodollar deal in the 1970s was that the Saudis would sell their oil for dollars and in exchange the U.S. would protect Saudi Arabia and its regime.
