Time to go for a climb! Quick weekend photo to get everyone excited...
Got to get up early as the days are short this time of year. Here in the Sierra Nevada, getting up early for a climb also helps you stay of of harm's way from the potential for afternoon showers. The alpine glow on the rocks makes it a bit more appealing as only a few minutes before it was very very cold. Time to go climb some of the worlds best granite!
As you can see, this is the "cathedral peak" graniodiorite with huge, really huge feldspar crystals and located in Yosemite National Park, and makes for nice, sometimes excellent climbing.

Agreed! But they (the plates) are exfoliation joints and are pretty strong... usually! :)
