Interesting new arrivals.
Andrea's Boss at her new job donated some rocks to our store. Apparently one of their previous tenants was a science teacher. He left behind some specimens that were interesting. I've chosen a few of the more interesting ones to display.
This is an Anda- Luciano trilobite from Morocco. I've had these before occasionally, but they sold quickly and never had a chance to post one.
Here are some strange fossil tracks.
I've done some research and as best as I can tell they are some kind of trilobite tracks (much smaller than the one previously pictured). I found the 80 degree turn fascinating.
I wet the tracks to make them more visible.
If anyone has ideas of what animal they may be, let me know.
Some people may perceive this as a type of coral. But actually it is a sand worm cast.
Each tiny hole is a tube that was bored into the sand by pin sized worms(eels) that would come out of the sand to feed on plankton.

Here is another interesting little find
This is an annelid (fossilized worm). Fossilized soft bodied creatures are very rare,so this one is special.
A careful inspection reveals a segmented body as in all annelids
As I was writing this post, two of these specimens found new homes.
