In this tepui is another of the most striking places for all those lovers of nature who seek inspiration and new adventures, it is the deepest cave in the world, which also has the particularity of having another abyss of great magnitude in the same tepui only 700 meters away. It is said that this cave was formed as a result of erosion caused by underground rivers that crossed the tepui, which caused landslides in places on the plateau.

The cave was first seen in 1961 by pilot Harry Gibson, however, it was not until February 1974 when the scientist Charles Brewer-Carías led an expedition along with specialists in botany and science to enter the hole and so analyze it, arriving at one of the conclusions that the walls of this abyss are so large that they make it impossible to exit from the bottom of the cave, so that within it you can find species of plants and animals that they do not exist anywhere else on the planet (endemic).
