Hello everyone,

Today is Tuesday and its a bright day for us. While thinking of what to do for my animals for feeding my rabbit. I thought of going to the process of fetching raw green leaves for the animals because it has been a while they eat this particular type of leave, me having a great interest in the sun flower plant to feed my rabbit took me a great long journey to a small location called The GRA flower garden area in Sango,Kulende Estate. ilorin, kwara state where there is alot of this Sun flower leaves that grew naturally on their own for survival.

WHY DO I HAVE INTEREST IN SUN FLOWER PLANT

• A little story behind this. While I was in the high school, because I went to the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State. Nigeria. Where i studied Animal production as a course there. There was one day I went for field work on my way to the field I saw a building built with partly block and with planks I was thinking of something when the owner of the house bypassed me and approaching the house I went quickly to meet him and greeted him. The way I greeted him sweet him so well that he asked me why am I walking alone here? I told him my mission and quickly I asked him sir what are you doing with this type of Green leaves (The Sum Flower Leaves) he replied me, he purposely fetched them for his Rabbit 🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇 I was somehow disturbed because I was cut away this leaves for fun, I thought they were just a mere bush to be crushed away. Now the Man took my time that day but I really learnt very well, also we went ahead to his rabbit farm. He has close to 100 rabbit if I don't lose count. He gave me some wisdom which I will equally share here with you people so you can learn from what you thought it just a waste.

WHAT I LEARNT FROM THE MAN

(1). Sunflower helps to provides a very high quality feed for livestock: I have an example for this, when the man gave me an illustration and he experience using this Sunflower, he said and I quote

My animals have been doing greatly well, they increased and multiply within a few period of raising them, he always included that my little rabbit consume this particular green leaves without having a bloat. Whoooa!!!

(2). He also said, the growth of his rabbit went up rapidly, meaning it contains a high protein level.

(3). He said he also uses sunflower to replace other feeds. He fetches sunflower as many times as possible leading to abandoning other known feeds.

This was my arrival from a long distance between 30km-150km/h drive in search for what to feed my rabbit in a very thick bush full of sunflower leaves.

This was when I was fetching the sunflower direct from the bush. ( typical farmer).

This was when I was about to leave the bush arena ( Sango Area, Kulende Estate. Ilorin)

OTHER USES OF SUNFLOWER ARE;

• With the little research I made online,It is used in industry for making paints ( Emotion, Gloss and cosmetics for human use.

• The sunflower seeds can be roasted and the roasted seeds make be used as a coffee type drink.

• It also produces healthy oil for people,when you are talking about the oil (sunflower oil)

• Also ,it can be used as the main source of feed for dairy cattle.

In Conclusion:

I have practice this method of feeding rabbit using sunflower leaves and it really worked out well for me, I made a huge practical experience and training which was helpful. I want to encourage my fellow steemians all over the world to make a trial too. There is never a harm in giving a trial and I know you will surely stick to it

As for the upcoming steemians (Newbies) I want you to give tour best in anything you do, if you are a farmer, do your best👍👍,if you are into drawing, also do your best.
