Take That Giant Leap

No one ever makes it without the determination to take a giant leap. A very remarkable achievement happened in the field of space travel in 1969; this is the moon landing of Apollo 11. When the crew finally landed on moon on the 20th of July 1969, and the team captain touched the ground of moon, this was his comment:

“…The eagle has landed. This is one small step of a man, but a giant leap for mankind” – Neil Armstrong {paraphrased by me}

Now, this is the nature of giant leap. Doing what no one has ever succeeded at, blazing the trail and doing what scares you.

Do you know that Apollo 11 wouldn’t have been the first lunar shuttle? Yes, there was Apollo 1 which never made it. It exploded just after takeoff in 1967, killing all the three crew members on board. But did this stop Neil and his team from daring the feat? Certainly not. Now they’ve engraved their names on the marbles of time.

You see, mind-blowing achievement is never a cheap talk; it is a hard work that requires a giant leap to be taken in the right direction.

Here’s another example of a man that took a giant leap; and this is Ferdinand Magellan. This man is credited as being the first man to lead the first circumnavigation (sailing round the world). The journey began in 1519 through to 1522. Even though the feat was completed posthumously, the credit still goes to him.

Take that daring step. It is either you succeed or you learn from your mistakes (it is a win-win situation).

A friend of mine once said, and I quip:

When you do what scares you, your fears will leave you alone

Take that daredevil act, and you’ll be surprised to see yourself succeeding at it.

See you at the top

Thanks for reading

We succeed in life only if we embrace our fears.

Well done @Samminator

Thanks a lot bro

Wooop!!! This is the kind of article I have been looking for since today. I'm glad I found it. @genesis-project... thanks for this special thinking via @samminator.

Our fears only hold us back from doing great things. One important fear in this respect is "fear of failure". Many of us are afraid of not succeding and it prevents us from taking a chance at life. We run and hide inside our shells like a scared little tortoise.

Like Niel Armstrong, we have gotta learn to take the small steps that will eventually be a giant leap. Courage comes from doing. And doing is action! Action itself is said to speak louder than words.

I think I'm done here. Drops mic....lolx
