Computer Generations
There are five generations of computer:
1st Generation (Vacuum Tube):
Vaccum tubes were used in first generation Computers. Vaccum tubes are large in size.
There are some disadvantages of Vaccum tubes.
They are very expensive
They are very slow
They produce a lot of heat during processing
Large rooms were needed for them because of the production of heat by them.
They also burnt out because of heat
2nd Generation (Transistors):
2nd generation computers used transistors for processing.Transistors were the main and major invention of that generation
200 transistors are of the same size of one vacuum tube
They are 40 times faster than a vacuum tube
They are less expensive and easy to assemble
They do not produce heat
They also not burnt out
Transistors were very useful and important for processing at that time
3rd Generation (Integrated Circuits) (IC chips):
3rd generation computer used Integrated Circuits(IC chips). Integrated Circuits(IC chips) are made up of silicon chips.
First IC chip was invented by St.CLairs
Single IC ship contains 1000's of transistors
IC chip is of size 1/4 square inch
4th Generation (Microprocessors):
4th Generation Computers contains microprocessors for processing data.
The First microprocessor was invented by Ted Hoff in 1967
which he was given to the intel company named as (Intel 4)
The size of a microprocessor in smaller than 1 inch
It is much faster than others
A microprocessor contains a house of digital and electrical circuits
It can process 1 Trillion calculations at a time.
5th Generation (Artificial Intelligence):
5th Generation computers used Artificial Intelligence that is also using at the present time.
Artificial Intelligence is a program that enables a MAchine or any robot to think and make the decisions on their own.
The most Artificial Intelligent Robot at this at this time is Sophia (the Artificial Intelligent Robot).
Artificial Intelligence is Very useful in the future.
Predictively the machines, computers and robots will be based upon the Artificial Intelligence
It is a brain for the machine, computers and robots
