This political correctness is also permeating Spanish, and now there are some saying that Spanish language is sexist. Spanish has gender declination that modifies nouns and adjetives into feminine and masculine. Our grammar was inherited from Latin, which had neutral as well, but neutral didn't make it into Spanish and neutral nouns were divided between masculine and feminine (that wasn't determinate by any authority, it just happen as speakers began to use it that way). And when you are addressing or referring to people, femenine and masculine, you will use the masculine as neutral to imply both genders. Let's say you are talking to children in a class, you'd say "niños" implying "niños" y "niñas". Regarding pronouns, you'd use "nosotros" if you want to include men and women, the same for "ellos" if you are referring to a group of people of men and women. That's being considered sexist by feminists in the Hispanic world and now there are a whole set or rules to avoid it. Like saying "niños y niñas", "nosotros y nosotras", "ellos y ellas". Many academics have complained that this use violate one of the main principle languages must have: economy. Even though Spanish must be one of the least economic languages, imagine how it would get if we started applying all those new rules they want to impose. Also they have propose an inclusive gender particle, "e", so you'd say "nosotres mismes" o "todes nosotres" o "niñes", thus violating another rule of language which is the nature of its evolution.
