With the recent arrival of Studios Ghibli on Netflix, I did nothing but watch a movie that I had missed among the great catalog of this production house, but that also reminded me that before these movies came to Netflix, there were other movies of the genre (although anime is not a genre, of course) that are great and must-see. All this blew my mind in a branch that is very difficult to explain, but based on "if this movie is like this, then it looks like this other, which is because it takes the essence of this other ...” The best example I can have is that when I saw The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, I thought that the director went out of his comfort zone in some parts, since it sometimes becomes a thriller (or at least I felt it as well), and that one of the best thriller directors in the anime is Satoshi Kons, who made Perfect Blue, which served as inspiration to make a scene from Requiem For A Dream, which, incredibly, is also on Netflix ...

Con la reciente llegada de Studios Ghibli a Netflix, no hice más que ver alguna película que me había faltado entre el gran catálogo de esta casa productora, pero eso me hizo recordar también que antes de que llegaran estas películas a Netflix, también habían otras películas del género (aunque el anime no es un género, claro está) que están buenísimas he imperdibles. Todo esto hizo volar mi mente en una rama muy difícil de explicar, pero que se basada en “si esta película es así, entonces se parece a esta otra, que es así porque toma la esencia de esta otra…”. El mejor ejemplo que puedo tener es que al ver la chica que saltaba en el tiempo, pensé que el director se salió de su zona de confort en algunas partes, ya que llega a ser a veces un thriller (o por lo menos yo lo sentí así), y que uno de los mejores directores de thriller en el anime es Satoshi Kons, que hizo Perfect Blue, que sirvió de inspiración para hacer una escena de Requiem For A Dream, que, increíblemente, también está en Netflix....

Eso es muy entretenido, pero cuando empiezas a conocer más y más acerca del tema, te das cuenta de que muchas cosas son una copia, un homenaje o a veces una casualidad.

Me gusta saber de este tipo de cosas pero también me hace pensar en lo ignorante que soy, porque por ejemplo, para el soundtrack de Ready Player One se hicieron homenajes a casi treinta películas, de las cuales no reconocí casi ninguna, y por otro lado, la película “the lighthouse” es una analogía a un cuento mitológico. Culturizarse en todos los ámbitos posibles es rico, y cuando te das cuenta de que las cosas están más conectadas de lo que parece, entonces se vuelve cada vez más placentero
