Interestingly, Australia was first colonised with the arrival of the 'First Fleet' in 1788... coincidence?
I haven't looked into that but nothing of that scale happens by accident!
Yeah, it sorta dawned on me while I was reading your article, thinking 1776 doesn't really work for Australia but then 1788 seemed a little odd... !
The US Constitution was ratified at the Somer Solstice 1788.
