No coin will replace the originals they will try but so long as the originals continue to grow and adapt I think the reputation behind them will always outweigh anything. So Bitcoin and Ethereum are going to stay in the Top 2 for quite a while.

I think you're being unfair to Bitcoin or you're don't have faith in the project. Currently Bitcoin is by far the worst at transactions speeds and the highest fees I agree with you there, but they do have plans to improve this. Do keep in mind that Bitcoin has been the largest Market share holder since day one, so any issue that comes up with cryptocurrency usually happens in Bitcoin first and other coins tend to benefit from learning from these mistakes/errors.
Anyways when the lightning network goes online hopefully we will see a much needed improvement. So you can't say it's not trying to adapt to all of this.
